Our Story

Perceptive Wealth Advisors (PWA) is a Fee-Only Registered Investment Advisory firm founded by Amol Desai, CFP®, CFA.

Amol grew up in India in the 1990s in a typical middle-class family focused on quality education. While earning his bachelor’s degree in production engineering at the University of Mumbai, he witnessed the beginnings of strong economic growth as India began opening up its markets to the world. This exciting and prosperous time sowed the seeds of curiosity surrounding finance and economics.

When Amol made the journey to the United States and experienced the period of great financial crisis of 2008-2009, he again found himself drawn to finance and economics—so much so that he started PWA to help other first-generation immigrants navigate the complex financial system and endless opportunities this country has to offer. He is also passionate about helping mid- career professionals with young families build rewarding lives while maintaining long-term financial stability.

Meet Amol Desai, CFP®, CFA

Amol Desai is founder and financial advisor at Perceptive Wealth Advisors, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisory firm that organizes and manages clients’ financial lives so they can pursue their dreams on a path to success. He primarily serves mid-career professionals and first-generation immigrants. Amol prides himself on diligently listening to his clients’ needs and providing thoughtful, objective, and timely service. His ultimate goal is to facilitate his clients’ financial journey and provide organization and confidence in their decisions so they are well prepared to build long-term wealth.

Amol obtained a Bachelor of Engineering, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA in finance from Rice University, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designations. When he’s not working, Amol enjoys traveling, visiting national parks, hiking, learning about music (often following Indian Classical/semi-classical genres).
